Vampires have decided that humanity is just no longer capable of governing themselves. Thus, they have taken control of the world, in one gigantic government called the Vampirocracy. Leon Ragnarson is a vampire hunter who works with the government, taking down vampires and other things that break the law.
Leon finds himself investigating a string of vampire murders. The vampires in question have all been dealt with in professional fashion, killed with the skill and knowledge of a professional vampire hunter. Now, Leon is called upon to find the killer and bring him or her to justice. Could it be one of Leon's old Hunting buddies, who supposedly retired when the vampires took over? Or could it even be his trusted mentor, Ellen, the woman who taught Leon to be a Hunter?
Complicating his life further is Leon's search for answers about his own identity. Why he likes to stay up late, why his bruises fade in a day, and why he can sense vampires? Beautiful Wicca Amy may have the answers Leon seeks. . . or she may be another in a long line of seemingly cursed interactions with women.

I will say first off, there are some grammar and spelling snafus. Having said THAT, this is a solid offering by a first-time writer. The characters are well-imagined, and filled out enough to get on with the story without confusion about who's who while still leaving room for more character details later. A decently-laid out mystery (and I'm a dyed-in-the-wool Christie fan) that has me anxiously awaiting the next in the series.Product details
