Sean and Erin's story was so intense and filled with the real emotions of even the strongest people. These characters were so real and a true testament to the healing love can bring. I loved how through their shared history they finally found the strength and desire to heal. I did think she acted like a cop when she needed to. I was glad that being an agent didn't consume her to make her hard, but personal issues and heartache allowed her to still become a caring individual. I really liked that her realization of taking the chance on opening her heart regardless of the pain and risk, is better than being stuck in a cave of pain from loneliness before the end when there was the climax of the stalker issue. It made the journey more genuine because it came from truth and time and not the immediate situation. My heart tore and cheered as Sean took the biggest leap and put that completeness of love that needs passion, desire and trust to really work, before his physical desire for Erin.Sean wanted that love more than anything else. He realized that all the whoring around was a cover. He recognized his heart was Erin before his brain put it together when they met.
Kudos for Naima's clear and developed writing in a story that was not pretty, but real none the less. I look forward to reading more of her works. THis was well worth the money if you can stomache some pretty ugly things that adults can do to children. If you can't, don't read this book. It doesn't go into explicit detail, but you can't miss the meaning and what happened.

This book was okay. Not bad but it wasn't exceptional either. The sex scenes were definitely intense for those that are into that type of thing. This is an okay book to pick up and read if you are passing the time.
first thing i payed to much for this book,there was no story line just could not get into it.the sex was way over my head.
A great read. The characters were well developed. They found each other and healed the broken parts in their heart with each other.
I am not a big fan of this author but this book was ok. When I first discovered her I tried to give her a chance but I couldn't connect. None of the characters in the books I read were black and as a black woman wanting to support black authors I was so disappointed. I stopped reading books by this author until I ran across one w at least one main black character. I again tried to support this author, I purchased the book and discovered, yet again, the disappointment was there. This was just an ok read and I want be supporting this author in the future.
Well let's just say Mrs. Naima Simone gets to the point in this novel and boy is it on point. Sean and Erin hit the floor running...And I love how Sean doesn't back down and tells Erin straight up and down what's going to happen no matter what she made up in her mind!!! Ha I love strong male characters in books my only gripe is the cussing but I sucked it up...The stalker chick was really nutty and I don't see how be become that delusional but hey she had a serious childhood herself so I know that played a part...I loved how the book touched on touchy subjects too. Things that people should always talk about with kids so that they have no fear when someone is doing something wrong to them. A great book and I highly recommend it. This is the second or third book I've read by this author and I haven't been dissappointed yet!
I was really leery about buying this story I have been burned by a few interracial story's, but something about the sample really drew me in so, I took the chance and it was so worth it. The plot was a little thin but there was a connection between the two main characters, the author was able to convey so much emotion that I forgave the thin plot. The sex scenes where hot, the male lead character Sean was the right blend of alpha male and sensitive. I won't give the plot away but this story is worth the money.
The book blurb was so good and i was hooked. I wish i could say this book was good, because i love a hot sex scene and this book had so many that the author could afford to give some to other books. I just don't like when most of the whole book is sex scenes. The main characters would have a sex scene talk for a line or two and then go right into another sex scene. And these sex scenes would last for at least 4 or 5 pages each. I found myself getting bored and skimming some of those scenes. It just got too repetitive.
